Daniel Aeschbacher

Prof. Design Management epeaswitzerland gmbh 

Daniel Aeschbacher is Swiss. He studied architecture and holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Design from San José State University, California (SJSU), a Master’s degree in Environmental Technology and Management, and completed postgraduate studies in University Pedagogy at the Lucerne University of Teacher Education, as well as Social

Transition at the DRIFT Transition Academy in Amsterdam. Between 1978 and 1980, he worked as an architect with Max Bill. From 1980 to 1989, he studied Industrial Design at SJSU and worked with Hartmut Esslinger at Frog Design in California. In 1989, Ettore Sottsass (Milan, Italy) invited Aeschbacher to collaborate with him as an architect and designer on various avant-garde projects. From 1990 to 1995, he lectured at the Europe Art Center College of Design in Switzerland.

In 1991, he founded his own design consultancy for product development in Switzerland, practicing product design and design management. Together with partners,
he co-founded Eurodesign in Lyon, France, and collaborated with partners in Zurich and Silicon Valley. In 1995, he assumed the role of Design Manager at Plantronics in Santa Cruz, California, and later at Hewlett-Packard in Grenoble, France. His design work has received several international awards.

From 2001 to 2022, Aeschbacher was a lecturer at the School of Design Bern (SfGB), and since 2004 he has been a Professor in the Design Management International (DMI) program, and as core-member responsible for curriculum development. He led modules and courses in design, pioneered integrative courses in sustainability and circular
economy.

In April 2022, Daniel Aeschbacher became a member of the epeaswitzerland team and network, where he is responsible for professional and university education. In 2023, Aeschbacher presented his study Transformation by Circular Design ProcessTM at the Global Fiber Congress Dornbirn (GFC 23). 2024 and 2025, he was invited to be Juror for the category “Transformation field: Ressources” in the Deutsche Nachhaltigkeitspreis.

In 2024–2025, he wrote a paper for the Springer Nature publication on “SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth.” At epeaswitzerland, he is involved in the development of the Digital Product Passport Compass Cradle to CradleTM. Currently, Aeschbacher is working on a comprehensive, forward-looking model for design and innovation in circular business transformation.

Sasha Cisar

Sasha Cisar is a sustainability and sustainable finance expert with a track record spanning asset management, banking, and academia. He is currently serves as Specialist for Sustainable Investments at the Nest Collective Foundation, an asset owner and pioneer in sustainable investing in Switzerland.

Previously, Sasha led sustainability research and active ownership at radicant bank, Switzerland’s first digital sustainability bank, and held senior roles as Sustainability Analyst and Sustainability Manager at Bank J. Safra Sarasin. Earlier, he conducted research at ETH Zürich on sustainable construction, building on his background as a trained architect.

Beyond his professional roles, Sasha aims to advance sustainability across the financial sector. He frequently lectures on sustainable finance and contributes to industry initiatives such as Swiss Sustainable Finance and he is board member at the Green Fintech Network.

Together with peers, Sasha co-founded the Investor Impact Initiative that aims to strengthen the role of finance in achieving real-world sustainability outcomes, by advancing how investors can generate impact in public markets through capital allocation, stewardship, and field building.

Dr. Anna Klis

University of Northern Illinois, Economics Department

Professor Anna Klis is an Associate Professor in the Economics Department at Northern Illinois University. She is also a Faculty Associate of our interdisciplinary Institute for the Study of the Environment, Sustainability, and Energy and an Affiliate of the Northern Illinois Center for Community Sustainability. She completed her PhD in 2015 at the University of Texas at Austin with specialties of game theory and microeconomic theory, and an emphasis on environmental topics. Dr. Klis has particular interest in environmental externalities, including emissions, hidden resource management, and overfishing and overharvesting of natural resources, among others. Her research has a special focus on international agreements, how the structure of an agreement can affect membership and effectiveness, and the theoretical implications of such models. She has published in journals such as Ecological Economics, Journal of Environmental Management, and the B.E. Journal of Theoretical Economics, and she currently serves as Managing Editor of the Agricultural and Resource Economics Review.

Olivier P. Müller

Olivier P. Müller is an independent investment advisor. In his previous role he was in fund structuring and development. Mario Stucki

Mario was born and raised in the Swiss mountains, where he developed a deep connection with nature from a young age. Simon Tribelhorn

Simon Tribelhorn is the Director of the Liechtenstein Bankers Association. After his studies at the University of St. Gallen, he worked as a lawyer in the banking industry for six years, most recently for four years as a legal advisor in the legal and compliance department of a major Swiss bank. He has worked for the Liechtenstein Bankers Association since February 2006, initially as a lawyer and then as Deputy Director. In January 2010, he was appointed Director of the most important financial industry association in Liechtenstein. Dr. Josephine Wapakabulo

TIG Africa- Founder & Managing Director

Dr Josephine Wapakabulo brings 25 years of experience spanning corporate leadership, entrepreneurship, and board governance. She partners with investors and entrepreneurs to build and scale businesses that deliver strong financial returns while advancing sustainable development. As founder and managing director of TIG Africa, she drives value creation in Africa-centric initiatives, with expertise in energy access, financial inclusion technologies, Climate-Tech and AI/machine learning innovations. Additionally, she serves as an Advisory Board member for the Bloomberg New Economy Forum.

Previously, she made history as the first woman to lead a national oil company at its inception, serving as the inaugural CEO of Uganda National Oil Company (UNOC). At UNOC, she led the development of Uganda’s commercial oil and gas strategy, securing over $20 billion in investment partnerships with regional and global stakeholders. Under her leadership, UNOC established robust policies and agreements aligned with International Finance Corporation (IFC) environmental and social risk standards, ensuring community development and local participation across the petroleum value chain.

Beyond her tenure at UNOC, Dr Wapakabulo has raised over $200 million in financing for various technology initiatives. She is an electrical engineer by training, with a PhD in data modeling and knowledge management standards, an Executive MBA from INSEAD, and advanced credentials in oil, gas, and mining governance from Oxford University. Earlier in her career, she spent eight years at Rolls-Royce plc, in the UK and Germany, where she earned recognition as an award-winning innovator and authored a book on the strategic importance of data standards for global organizations.
